Stories for Life – Philosophy

‘Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom’ … Aristotle

Silver Warriors, Robert McClean and Greg Barnes, host Stories for Life Philosophy sessions and the subjects are many and varied. Participants explore getting to know themselves and each other. Students (Apprentices) welcome the opportunity to discuss subjects which they say, are usually not spoken about, particularly outside their peer group.

See Us in Action

Apprentices from Wanganui Park Secondary College recently had the opportunity to participate in a philosophy session with some of our Silver Warriors. Listening to, and discussing the different life experiences of the group, had a great impact on Apprentices and Silver Warriors alike.

Happiness, Grief, Self-Esteem, Identity and Resilience amongst other subjects about life, are discussed in a safe place under the famous Chatham House rule – all that is discussed within the group is strictly confidential. The sessions are in harmony with Plato’s telling quote, ‘An unexamined life is not worth living.’
